Turbo yeasts are fast working and normally ferment to a higher alcohol level than beer, ale or wine yeast. Most times, they come with yeast nutrient already included, but check first before buying if you need to buy it separately.

Buy turbo yeast if you are looking to ferment quickly and cleanly. They will often ferment in 2 or 3 days, depending on variety and temperature. They are great for Moonshiners who just want to produce a plain alcohol fast.
If you are making a simple sugar wash, there are instructions on the packages giving quantity of sugar to use, and mixing directions. Normally, you don't need to make a yeast starter with turbo yeast, since they will start working quite quickly. Temperature is a factor though, and as a rule, most yeast will do well if started between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Higher than that and some yeasts will die, too cold and the fermentation will slow. It will still ferment at cool temperatures, but will do so much more slowly.
To describe a simple simple sugar wash for turbo yeast, use about 8 kg of plain white sugar, added to 20 to 25 litres of warm or hot water (good quality, drinkable water) in a food grade container. Mix well to dissolve it all, and allow to cool to temperature. Add yeast and stir vigorously for a minute or two to get oxygen into the wash. Yeast needs oxygen to begin working. Cover and fermentation should start in a few hours to a day or so. It will be done when it no longer tastes sweet, and you will see the wash clear and a sediment layer forms at the bottom. You've now made an alcohol wash!
