Four (4) Pounds of Genuine Jim Beam Brand Wood Smoking Chips made from 100% recycled Jim BeamĀ® Oak Bourbon Barrels The wood chips in this 20-inch by 13-inch burlap bag are made from the same white oak barrels used to age the famous Jim BeamĀ® Bourbon Whiskey. The hand-selected Bourbon barrels that we use are skillfully recycled in house into smoker chips to ensure uniform smoking consistency with the uniquely distinctive flavor of Jim Beam Bourbon. Good smoke is produced by a variety of woods, especially hard woods that are low in resin and high in flavor - add Bourbon to the mix, and you have a winning recipe no matter what is on the menu. Smoking your food on a BBQ is also a very good way to add flavor without calories. And, it's extremely easy to do. When using gas grills it's best to put presoaked wood chips (soak a handful in a small bowl or pan for 15 minutes) in a smoker box or wrap them in a piece of aluminum foil with a lot of holes in it. This keeps your grill from filling up with ash and clogging the burners. But get that wood close to the heat. You need the heat to smolder the wood and this means a pretty high heat.
